10 Years Of Service

A few days ago, just before Christmas, we had our annual corporate Christmas Party. Since may pandemic, we did it online. I was quite sad we weren’t able to have a “real” party because I am celebrating my 10th year in my company this year. Yes, awardee ako. 10 years. I started with DMCI Homes, 2 months after I gave birth to Anika. So halos magkasing tanda si Anika and ang stay ko with DMCI Homes. Last year, nung wala pang Covid, sabi ko paghahandaan ko ang outfit ko for the 2020 Christmas Party. Well, yearly ko naman pinaghahandaan yung party namin. Our corporate party gives me kasi the reason to dress up. Haha! Pero dahil 10th year awardee ako and aakyat ako ng stage, ito sana dapat ang pinaka-bongga na year. Kaso, eto online na lang.

I didn’t think of this year’s Christmas Party anymore. Kaya nagulat ako when they said that I will be one of the awardees who they will be interviewing. The night before nila ako sinabihan. Nagpanic ako. Ano kaya pwede kong suotin?! Gusto ko kahit online, bongga pa din.

Good thing I have a Koko and Van top in red. Kristina ata ang name ng top na ito.

And since online party lang naman siya, pambahay shorts ang suot ko sa bottom. Hehehehe. Hindi naman kasi kita.

I did my own make up and put on fabulous earrings.

Yan na ang pinakamalaki kong earrings. I wanted to wear pa sana a tiara kaso wala ako makita dito sa bahay. Before going live, I called up Anne to asked if okay ba ang hitsura ko. Natawa siya kasi ang bongga. However, she said that my big earrings were blending with my Christmas tree so I changed it to this.

Biglaan lang yan kaya hindi ako masyadong prepared. True enough when they saw me, natawa sila. That was the reaction that I was aiming for. Para may comic relief yung party hehe. During the interview, they asked me what I am most proud of about DMCI Homes. My answer was the people working for the company. From the leaders to the staff who execute the directions of the leaders, proud ako sa dedication nila sa  trabaho. Imagine even if may Covid, we were able to deliver 10 buildings na mga Ready For Occupancy na. I am most proud of the people in our Operations Group. Yung mga talagang nagsa-site araw araw. Pagpumunta ka sa site namin, parang normal na normal lang. Parang walang pandemic except that everyone is following Covid protocols and mga naka-face mask and shield. We are very resilient. And yung mga executives namin, ang gagaling magdirect what to do and where to go ang company namin. There were a few bumps on the road at the start pero we were able to adjust to the situation right after. Recently I learned that some of the big developers/construction companies, hindi sila nakapag-full blast unlike us. All the while I thought everybody was like us na tuloy tuloy ang gawa. Hindi pala. That makes me more proud of our engineers and employees.

After that, I was one of the judges naman for the DMCI Homes Got Talent. Nagchange costume ako. When I went on screen, natawa naman sila hahaha!

It was a fun party overall despite the 3rd world country internet speed therefore the lagging and all.

After the party, napag-isip ako. What made me stay dito sa company namin for 10 years?

I’ve worked for 2 companies before I started working for DMIC Homes. Ang difference dito compared sa iba is they give importance to their employees. You will be inspired to perform well kasi you will be well compensated kung maayos and magaling ka sa work mo. Maganda ang benefits dito. They give out various seminars to improve what you already know. Kung gusto mo mag-aral ng master’s, pwede mong ilapit for their approval. Madami kaming sessions for self-improvement. Magagaling din ang leaders dito. Hindi alta, alam niyo yun? They’re very reachable and maka-tao. Madaming mga boss ang nagsasabi diyan na bukas ang pinto nila for their employees pero hindi mo naman mafeel. Dito hindi ganun. Pwede mo sila lapitan anytime (actually exage hindi naman anytime, you still need an appointment lelz). Pati sa workers, ganun din ang management. Our bosses really look after our workers’ welfare. This is one of the reasons why madaming workers ang loyal sa company. Hindi na sila umaalis. One of the things I like also with DMCI Homes is how they give importance to their customers. Grabe ang quality ng products namin. I have seen the quality of others and maganda talaga ang sa amin. We have innovations programs to further improve our products and services. Consistent yan. Innovate kami ng innovate. Everybody is encouraged to submit and present their ideas. Another reason why I stayed is because ang dami kong natutunan. Even after 10 years, I still learn a lot. Yung culture kasi dito is magturo dapat yung mga may mga hawak na tao to their staff kaya non stop ang learning.

Lastly, kaya din siguro ako nagtagal is because aligned ang values ko with the values of the company that’s why I believe in them. I hope I could and would be able to stay for more years to come.

I thank you.

Hehehehe.

Happy 10 years to me at DMCI Homes!
