Hi everybody! How’s your Christmas holiday? I hope yours was as nice and meaningful as mine.
As we do every year, we spend Christmas Eve with my side of the family wherever I am. Hehehe! Funny but it’s true. We have transferred to different houses ever since I got married pero we all meet each other at my and Alvin’s house. It’s automatic, I think.
I am happy also because there are no conflicts with Christmas get togethers with my and Alvin’s family. We spend Christmas Eve with my family because it has been a tradition since I was young. The next morning, Alvin, Anika and I hear Christmas mass. And then in the afternoon until evening, we spend Christmas day at Alvin’s side of the family naman.
Anyway, for this year, the color motif was green, white or khaki. Medyo wrong decision kasi naging iba iba ang color sa photo. You’ll see that in the last picture in this blog entry. But it looked nice for this years Sombrero Family Christmas photo.
Grabe my eyebags ano? And my laugh lines a.k.a crows feet, talaga naman showing na showing. That will be my resolution for next year. Yung mukha ko, need ko na ipa-science talaga. Kailangan na ng banat.
Faye and Isabel arrived early with LT. Ang cute talaga ni Isabel.
For our Noche Buena, we had pizza c/o Toots and Russ. Lyn cooked chicken and the delicious leche flan graham dessert. LT brought spaghetti from Pancake House. Wowa brought maki and smoked ribs. Faye brought wagyu cubes. Ako? I set the table. Lelz.
After eating, we gave each other our gifts na.
The gift of the year was from Alvin to Anika. Anika has been wanting to have airpods for the longest time. Sabi ko sa kanya napaka-mahal naman so she didn’t push it. Mabait na bata yan si Anika. Pagsinabi mo na hindi pwede, hindi na niya pipilitin no matter how much she likes it. A few weeks ago, I asked her to write her Christmas gifts wishlist. Actually hindi ko na yun nakita. I gifted her with 2 toys of her choice. Happy ako kasi she chose yung science lab na toy where you can do science experiments and the car traffic eklaver where matetest naman yung IQ niya. I already gave her the Hydroflask and she knew it was an advanced Christmas gift from me.
Si Alvin checked out the list that Anika made.” Ang mamahal naman ng mga ito.”, he said. I told him, hindi naman niya need bilhin yung mga mahal. So imagine my surprise when Alvin gave his gift. Siya yung last na nabigay. It was wrapped in a brown paper bag. Akala pandesal haha. When Anika opened it and saw na “airpods” siya, naiyak talaga yung bagets. I think you watched na her reaction because I posted it in Instagram. Naluha din talaga ako. I saw in that moment that we did something right in bringing her up. She was very appreciative. Niyakap ng niyakap Tatay niya. Naiyak pa sa sobrang tuwa. That’s what you get when you don’t give everything to your kids. Pagbigay kayo ng bigay ng mga material things to them, hindi na nila yan mapapansin. They will feel entitled that they deserve all those things. And we do not want to raise entitled children kasi kamusta na lang ang magiging society nila in the future kung lahat sila entitled.
This year’s Christmas Eve is one of the most special ones I’ve had. It was the first time in 6 years that we were complete. Noel and Papa were able to celebrate with us together. After dinner, we were so engrossed catching up with each other to a point na Alvin got my camera and took a photo of us. Natuwa si Alvin. Maybe also because he saw how happy I was, how happy we were.

Christmas 2011
And here’s a photo of the whole family =)
I was so happy we were complete that when I was thanking God the next morning sa mass, naluha talaga ako. Masaya ako teh. They went home around 2am na. We played Telestrations and that was a really funny group game. I want to buy one. I hope they have it at Hobbes and Landes.
I hope Noel spends New Years Eve with us because he flies back to Australia after my birthday.
Speaking of birthday, my birthday’s coming up and I don’t know what to do. Sa next kwento ko na lang iexplain.
Enjoy the remaining days of vacation =)
